IFAD ORANG ASLI

The Jakun are the most numerous indigenous people in Malesia. They keep a tight connection with the forest, using just what they actually need to live off. Their traditional livelihoods are in danger. IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development) through l'Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility (IPAF) has financed a project to improve their livelihoods by concentrating on strengthening their own social enterprise, by improving the access to fair trades, by strengthening cultural values and by enhancing diversity in their sustainable agriculture.
