The documentary describes the story and the restoration of the monument for Giulio the Second’s grave, throughout critics’ and historian’s testimonies and the looks of visitors, including some not accredited special guests. The setting created by the restoration scaffolding was left as an accessory to the church structure that, in its various areas, has hosted the musicians that were invited to play live. In the documentary it is shown, for the first time in the monument’s history, the back of Michelangelo’s Moses, never documented nor shown to the public before. There is a shorter version of the documentary done with footage filmed over again or unreleased. For this film the music was written by Michael Nymann. Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella have done “The Moses”, a short-film paired with the documentary.
