NORTH SENTINEL
NORTH SENTINEL is a music project and a band founded by Francesco G. Raganato (guitarist and author of the pieces) Francesco Cabras (voice and theremin), Alberto Molinari (bass guitar), Edo Guerrazzi (drums), Roberto Micarelli (guitar).
The homonymous album “NORTH SENTINEL”, available but never canonically released, talks about the end of a love story, nearly a concept album on neglect and absence.
All the pieces were written by Francesco G. Raganato and arranged with the artistic production by Oh Petroleum in Sud est Studio of Guagnano. The recordings were made on a magnetic tape, every piece was played live in the studio.
It is a sort of Folk ‘Roll style, a combination of rock, ballades and dark folk. Echoes of Nick Cave, Scott Walker, Cohen and Adriano Celentano can be detected: unmentionable guardian gods, quoted as a pure guideline and a tribute. The band won the Italian finals for southern Italy of Emergenza festival 2016. Occasionally Davide Ambrogi, Pierfrancesco Marinelli, Stefano Corrias, Leonardo cesari, Giovanni Abei, Livia Bigi, Andy Trema, Mimosa Campironi and Giorgio Condemi have played live with the North Sentinel.
NORTH SENTINEL is a tiny island in the archipelago of the Andemans in Bengala Gulf. On this island live the Sentinels, a tribe with a far-flung and heartbreaking history. This is the only human being community that has chosen to refuse any contact with whichever kind of contemporary civilization.
